清明节前夕，我们来一起学习一下die的相关搭配和用法，也算是应景。

1. die down: （炉火等）变弱，渐渐消失；停止，平息；枯萎，枯凋

2. die for: 为…而死；渴望，切望
eg：When we die for the people it is a worthy death.

3. die off: 一个一个地死去，相继而亡

4. die out: 逐渐消失；灭绝
eg：Presently her footfall die out as she descend to the lower floor
        当走到下一层楼时,她的脚步声不久就消失了。

和die相关的短语，也有一些有意思的内容。举例几个，不怎么重要，就当扩充知识面吧。
die like a dog，大家一看都知道，像狗一样死去，那肯定死得不太美好，所以这个短语的意思是“悲惨地（或可耻地）死去，潦倒而死”。
die like a rat，像老鼠一样死？这个相比较上面那个更惨了。想象一下被耗子药毒死的老鼠们……就正好引出了这个短语的意思，“被毒死”。
die like flies，这个……太夸张了！像苍蝇们一样死！这个就不让大家想象一堆的死苍蝇了，这个词的意思就是“大批死亡，死得很多”。
